Life Legacy

GAIL HARTZELL, age 67 of Crown Point, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas; three sons: Dale (Amanda) Hartzell of Oswego, IL, Keith (Molly) Hartzell of Indianapolis, IN, Kevin (Gwendolyn) Hartzell of Avon, IN; sister, Sharon Evey of OH; eight grandchildren: Abigail, Luke, Breana, Elijah, Giana, Vaughn, Rushmore, and Atola; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Vesta and Frederick Fichtner; brother, David Fichtner.

Gail was a retired librarian from Valparaiso University Law Library and Associate Professor of Law Librarianship Emerita of Valparaiso University Law School. She was a member of the American Association of Law Libraries and she received an Outstanding Lifetime Achievement award from the Chicago Association of Law Libraries. Gail received her Bachelor's degree from Kent State University and her Master's degree from Indiana University. She was also a member of the Crown Point Women's Club.

Family and friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral and Cremation Service, 811 E. Franciscan Dr. (south of St. Rd. 231 on St. Rd 55), Crown Point for a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 pm from Pruzin & Little Chapel with Rev. Tom Shanahan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
